Operation Hear Their Silence

A national movement to raise awareness of veteran suicide and bring communities together to support those struggling in silence.

Why It Matters

Every day, veterans face challenges that most Americans never see — homelessness, mental‑health crises, medical barriers, and isolation. We refuse to let them face those battles alone.

  • 22 veterans die by suicide daily
  • Thousands lack access to basic medical equipment
  • Many feel forgotten after service

Veterans Assurance Network is now calling their veteran suicide prevention efforts Operation Hear Their Silence. We at Veterans Assurance Network believe veterans are reluctant to talk about their fight with their demons. That’s why we are educating their family members, friends, neighbors, the community they live in on prevention and on resources available to veterans in crisis. By educating the community We believe more veterans will open up and seek help when their families and friends can talk to them about their troubles. Please help us prevent veteran suicide by donating today.

Suicide Prevention

Veteran Assurance Network is taking steps to prevent veterans from committing suicide. We held “Rally Against Suicide” the past four years in Cleveland with cooperation with the Cleveland Cavaliers and are hoping to expand to other cities across the country. Our founder Tim Hauser advocated for a Veteran Suicide Awareness and Prevention Day in Ohio where Governor Mike DeWine signed into law on July 24, 2024. He is advocating for this day to be recognized nationally, working with many Senators and Congressmen to get this done. We give PowerPoint presentations educating those around veterans on warning signs and services available to prevent their veteran from committing suicide.

Help Us get September 22 designated as Veteran Suicide Awareness and Prevention Day. We are trying to get September 22 designated as national Veteran Suicide Awareness and Prevention Day. Please contact your representatives on both the national and state levels and demand they fight to make this day happen. In 2024 we got this passed in Ohio every state should have it on the same day.
